100 g PET SPOT PLUS solution contains:
Permethrin ………………………………..… 45 g
Excipient: Isopropyl myristate, Isopropyl alcohol.
PET-SPOT PLUS contains Permethrin, substance with insecticide and acaricide action and with a low repellent effect. Permethrin contains a new generation synthetic pyrethroid, non-systemic, photostable, which acts by contact and ingestion. Its antiparasitic action consists in interrupting the transport of sodium and potassium ions in the nervous membranes, producing a spontaneous depolarization which leads to the lack of coordination and at the end in blocking the nervous transmissions, paralyzing and killing the ectoparasites.More info
PET-SPOT PLUS is used in dogs to prevent and treat ectoparasitosis (in risk periods) caused by fleas, ticks and mosquitoes. It presents a residual action of 3 – 4 weeks.
The treatment with PET-SPOT PLUS consists in one application, directly on the skin.
Dogs up to 15 kg body weight
Use a single dose, a pipette tube with 1.5 ml, as follows:
Take out the tube from the package and toggle it vertically, avoiding face contact. Remove the cover by unscrewing. With two fingers separate the fur between scapulas until you see the skin. Apply all the solution by pipetting directly on the skin, holding the pipette tube upright on the animal’s neck.
In dogs over 15 kg body weight
Use a single dose, a pipette tube with 3.0 ml, as follows:
Open the package, as mentioned above, and apply the solution by pipetting directly on the skin, holding the pipette tube upright on the animal’s neck, between scapulas, in several points (after separating the animal’s fur).
The second dose will be applied, if necessary, only after 3 weeks.
Do not use the treatment with PET-SPOT PLUS: in dogs under 3 months of age, in cats and other animals. Avoid contact between cats and dogs treated with PET-SPOT PLUS. The product is toxic for bees and fishes.
In case of reinvasion apply another dose, but after 21 days. In 3 days after using the product avoid touching and cutting the fur in the application area. Occasionally, irritation, itching and hair loss might appear on the application area. In this case the animal should be washed locally. The application spot should be washed and rinsed with a lot of water. Also, there may be a state of lethargy. If the symptoms persist consult the veterinarian.
The laboratory studies performed on animals have proved that Permethrin causes teratogenic and embriotoxic effects. For precaution, avoid using the product in gestation and lactation period.
During the treatment with PET-SPOT PLUS avoid using other products with external application against fleas/mosquitoes (spray type, antiparasitic collar or spot-on).
In case of accidental overdose it will appear the following adverse reactions: hypersalivation, vomiting, diarrhea, lack of coordination, excitability, deworming. For Perimthrin intoxication there is no specific antidote known. In this case use a symptomatic treatment. In case of severe intoxication the therapy should include sedatives and anticonvulsants (e.g. barbiturates, diazepam etc.). Perimthrin is incompatible with oxidant agents.
Pipette tubes in original packaging, at temperatures below 25°C, away from heat and fire sources.
