CONTRAINDICATIONS, CAUTIONS AND ADVERSE REACTIONS

It is not administered in the intestinal occlusion and for the animals with renal insufficiency. Rarely, the orally administered neomycin may produce oto-toxicity, nephro-toxicity and severe diarrhea. |The orally administered neomycin together with penicilin VK determine a low absorption of penicillin. Although the small quantities of neomycin are absorbed after oral administration, the simultaneous use of other oto-toxic or nephro-toxic medicines must be carefully made.

The tetracycline must not be overdosed due to the intestinal dismicrobism, nephro-toxicity, to the negative effects over the calcifiation. Due to the low absorption of neomycin, the oral overdosing must be avoided. Oxytetracycline is inactivated by the sodium lactate, oxaciline, prometasine. It acts contrary to penicillin. Sulphate neomycin is not administered together with steptomicina, kanamicina, gentamicin, colistine because they increase the toxicity of neomycin over the kidneys. It is neither administered together with the anesthesics because they may produce a neuromuscular block.
