PHARMACO-THERAPEUTICAL ACTION

Neotyl is a combination between two antibiotics (neomcin and tilozine), with a antibacterial enlarged spectrum, acting on certain Gram positive and Gram negative germs. It has a high penetration and remanence power in the galactophore channels. The simultaneous administration of prednisolonul decreases the inflammatory reaction related to the infectious phenomena. Concomitantly, vitamin A ensures the good operation of epythelium tissues and their regeneration, too.

Neomycin is a bactericide aminoglicozid and it is active against the aerobic bacteria. It is not active towards the anaerobic bacteria, but it is active towards the bacteria that optionally live “in vitro” under the anaerobic environment conditions.

Tilozine is a macrolide of which components are active against the most Gram-positive bacteria, Mycoplasma and many Gram-negative bacteria.

It is a bacteriostatic antibiotic and has the same action mechanism as the one of erythromycin (inhibates the synthesis of proteins) and the same activity spectrum.

Prednisolon is a synthetic glucocorticoid. In the veterinary medicine, the prednisolon is used in the formulas of the preparations with antibiotics designed to the intra-mammal administration for the treatment of mastitis on the bovine. The common dose of prednisolon is 10 mg of infected quarter. The treatment may be repeated at 12 hours for maximum 3 treatments.

Vitamin A stimulates the normal growing of epythelial cells. It participates to the development of metabolic processes at cellular level and due to the many double connections of the mollecule also plays an important role in the dynamics of the oxido-reducing processes. Locally, vitamin A is applied on the skin, on the mucouses in adequate medicine forms.

TARGET SPECIES

INDICATIONS

The treatment of mastitis with clinical expression (acute, sub-acute and chronic) during the lactation period, as well as of the sub-clinical mastitis during the mammal pause period.

POSOLOGY, ADMINISTRATION WAY AND MODE

Dose: 1 syringe: 10 g product / quarter

Administration:

- the product is intra-mammal administered, after the full milking and hygienization (washing and disinfection);

- it is administered one syringe at each quarter at 12 hours.

Period of treatment: 3–5 days depending on the clinical evolution of disease.

The cow will not be milked for at least 6 hours after which it was administered the treatment. The milk obtained during the treatment is not administered for human consumption.

If the animals don’t show an improvement of the health state, the veterinary will be consulted, for the re-evaluation of the diagnosis.

CONTRAINDICATIONS, CAUTIONS AND ADVERSE REACTIONS

It will be avoided the treatment of allergic animals to neomycin or tilozin or of those with hepatic disorders. Possible local or systemic allergic reactions. It will be avoided the long term treatment with neomycine to prohibit the development of microbial resistance. If allergic phenomena occur, taking into account the possibility of certain cross reactions, there will be avoided in the treatment of possible further infections: kanamicina, steptomicina and gentamicin.

On overdosing, contrary reactions, allergic reactions, respectively, may occur. The following medicines are incompatible to neomycin: amfotericin B, ampicillina, disodic carbenicilina, cefalozin sodium, cefalotin sodium, sodium phosphate, sodic dexamethasone, sodic meticillin, sodic oxacillin, HCl oxitetracillin, penicillin G, tetraciclin HCl, Vitamin B in complex with vitamin C. It is proven in vitro also, the inactivation of aminoglicozidic antibiotics by the beta antibiotics – lactamic. Prednisolon is incompatible with: calcium gluconate, dimenhydrinate, sodium metrotexat, sulphate polimixin B, promazin HCl. The compatibility depends on the factors like: pH, concentration, temperature and used dilution.

The interactions of tilosine tartrate with other medicines are not known. It is suggested that the blood level of digital glycosides may decrease.
