Specific prophylaxis of the avian infectious laringotracheitis. The inoculation is issued starting from the age of 4 weeks (28 days). The immunity installs after 7 days, being complete after 14 days post inoculation; the immunity period is minimum 60 days after the inoculation. In the special epidemiological circumstances and in the groups of poultry where the disease evolved during the previous years, the inoculation may be made starting from the age of 10 days. The re-inoculation is made at 16 – 20 weeks of life. At the meat chickens, the Laringovac vaccine confers immunity against LTI until the end of the exploitation period.
The vaccine is administered on several ways:
Individual, intra-nasal or ocular-conjunctiva: each vaccine dose is reconstituted in 0,1 ml solvent (2 drops) representing 102.5 EID50 min. – 103.0 EID50 max;
Mass, on aerogenic way by aerosols: the vaccine is reconstituted in purified water in a dose of 0,2 – 2 ml for one vaccine dose depending on the used aerosol generator.
It is not indicated the inoculation of chickens of the groups where other parasitic or nutritional – metabolic infectious-contagious diseases evolve. It is not recommended the administration of vaccines 10 – 14 days before and after the inoculation with Laringovac. The poultry are not inoculated during the blowing period. Seldom, at 3 – 4 days from the administration of Laringovac vaccine by aerosols, the blefaro-conjunctivites or respiratory reactions that are felt within 2 – 3 days may occur. For the prevention of these reactions, it is recommended the intra-nasal administration of the vaccine. There have not been registered clinical symptoms or other signs at a higher dose than the recommended dose by the intra-nasal administration of the vaccine.
Only the healthy poultry are inoculated. The optimum inoculation time depends on the epidemiologic situation of the groups of poultry and of the area where they are grown, being established by the veterinary who ensures the sanitary veterinary surveillance of the groups of poultry, based upon the determination of immunologic status. For a correct administration, at the individual ocular-conjunctiva or intra-nasal application, one drip is instilled in each eye or nostril. It is checked the procurement of 20 drops of vaccine for 1 ml. The correct intake supposes the observance of the following conditions: the reconstituted vaccine will be used within maximum 2 hours.
A good immune answer is the result of a powerful antigenic component and of a competent immune system of the body. The vaccine is only administered at the clinically healthy poultry. It is recommended that the poultry in a hall/ warehouse to be inoculated at the same day. The immunogenicity of the vaccine may be decreased by an inappropriate handling and storage of the vaccine or a wrong administration.
The general conduct norms regarding the handling of veterinary biological products will be observed. In the case of accidental inoculation of this product at human, immediately require the physician’s advice and show him the product prospect. The operating staff with a known sensitivity to one of the vaccine compounds must avoid the contact to it.
To be kept and transported under the temperature conditions 2 – 8°C. It is protected against the direct sunlight.
