PHARMACO-THERAPEUTICAL ACTION

Sulfadimethoxine is a chemo-therapeutic substance of the sulphamide group with a quite wide spectrum, of which purely bacterio-static action is due to the competitive antagonism towards the p-aminobenzoic acid, operating as H1. The sulphamides are substances with a bacteriostatic action, their action being proportional to the role of the p-amino-benzoic acid, in the cellular metabolism (either as that, or as precursor of the folic acid). The entheral and parenteral absorption of Sulfadimethoxine is full, it is generally fast absorbed from the intestinal tract, its tissue diffusion being good. Its removal is slow, as that or as metabolic products, through the urine, bladder under acetylate form.

Due to its action range, Enteroxin 40% – injectable solution is efficient for the treatment of infections with Gram-positive germs (streptococci, pneumococci, staphylococci, Clostridium tetani, Bacillus anthracis), with Gram-negative germs (E. coli, Salmonella spp., Pasteurella spp., Haemophyllus influenzae, Klebsiella spp., Enterobacter spp.), certain rikettsi and protozoa (Toxoplasma, Coccidia).
