The combination of hydrochloric acid, pepsin and tincture of absinth, fennel, rosemary and juniper are important for stomach digestive support.
Hydrochloric acid is necessary for protein digestion (converts pepsinogen to pepsin, maintains appropriate pH proteolytic action of pepsin, favoring the absorption of iron and calcium, providing acidic pH necessary to prevent bacterial growth in the stomach and influences intestinal and pancreatic secretion. Pepsin is an enzyme product consisting of proteolytic enzymes of the fresh stomach mucus of bovine or pigs. Pepsin has maximum activity in acidic pH between1-2 and helps digestion participating in nutrient digestion with other proteases eliminated by the endocrine glands.
Absinth (Artemisia absinthium) is antibacterial, tonic and moisturizer. Used as stimulant of gastric secretion, inflammation of the gastrointestinal mucosa, anthelmintic, anti diarrheal, laxative and gastric hypotonia.
Fennel (Feoeniculum vulgare) has antispasmodic and carminative action, stimulates lactation, liquefy bronchial secretions. Because of the essential oil acts as an antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, diuretic, depurative, expectorant, laxative, orexogenic, splenic, stomachic tonic and vermifuge.
Juniper (Juniperus communis) has a diuretic action, digestive, antiseptic carminative, stomachic and antirheumatic.
Rosemary ( ) has a eupeptic action, antiseptic, digestive, stomachic, conditioner, anti-spastic sudorific, diuretic and hypotensive and favors menstra. It is a good digestive and carminative for the digestive and intestinal tracts. Rosemary essential oil properties determine bacteriostatic properties, tonic, stimulant, inotropic inactive and the content in polyphenols and terpenes are effective antioxidants.
Rosemary has cholecysto – kinetic properties, to stimulate digestive functions and control intestinal bacterial flora symbionts.
