The vaccine is administered at the pigeons of minimum 28 days old. Each pigeon is deep inoculated in a dose of 0,2 ml per pigeon, in the backhead area.
The inoculation with the Columbovac vaccine does not produce local or general post-inoculation reactions. No specific symptoms were notices after the administration of a double dose. The pigeons designed to the human consumption are not inoculated. Only the healthy poultry will be inoculated. The inoculation with Columbovac is made in an inoculation program specific to the different categories of age.
Agitate well the phial before use and periodically during the use. The inoculation place of the vaccine is at the neck behind the backhead, as close as possible to the neck, with a needle of 20/21 towards the pigeon tail. The inoculation place is disinfected with sanitary alcohol (it stresses the place by moistening the barbs and does not color the coat). It is used the vaccine of the unsealed phial for maximum 2 hours. The vaccine must not be used if aspect visible changes and consistency are noticed.
