1 ml solution for injection contains:
Calcium chloride (as dihydrate)……………… 100 mg
Magnesium chloride (as hexahydrate)……… 25 mg
Excipient (distilled water for injections)
Calcium ion is involved in many physiological mechanisms, among which the most important are: osteosynthesis toning and increased neuromuscular activity osteosynthesis and toning activity increased neuromuscular stimulate phagocytosis and blood clotting, reduce edema by decreasing vascular permeability and diuresis activity, it is antiallergic and anti-inflammatory.
Magnesium ion, acting as an calcium antagonist, reduces the excitability of the central nervous system, heart rate and blood pressure, tonus and the peristalsis of the intestine and uterus.
Combination of these ingredients provides a moderate action by reducing the effects of both substances, acting as a tonic for the heart and central nervous system.More info
Horses, cattle, sheep, goats, dogs, cats
Solution for injection of CALCIUM – MAGNESIUM is recommended in allergic conditions and anaphylaxis, in vituler fever, in hypocalcaemia, in paresis and paraplegia ante and postpartum in cattle, horses, sheep, goats, dogs, cats.
Solution of CALCIUM – MAGNESIUM should be strictly intravenously inoculated, slowly, in varying doses, depending on the species, in a single dose or repeated at 24 hours correlated with the clinical condition of the animal, as follows:
Cattle, horses: 100 – 400 ml, depending on body weight
Sheep, goats: 20 – 120 ml, depending on body weight
Dogs, cats: 5 to 10 ml, depending on body weight
Do not use on animals with severe renal insufficiency. Do not administer intramuscularly or perivenous.
Mismanagement may produce bradycardia or cardiac arrest (in case of rapid injection) or may cause local necrosis (in intramuscular administration). Studies performed have shown that administration of the product CALCIUM – MAGNESIUM in recommended doses does not cause adverse reactions in animals during pregnancy and lactation.
Solution for injection of calcium – magnesium is not recommended for use on patients treated with digitalics, there is potential for arrhythmias; simultaneous use of high doses of vitamin D or its analogs may enhance calcium absorption and induce hypercalcemia.
Rapid administration may cause low blood pressure and arrhythmias, even cardiac arrest. Also, the use of high doses may lead to loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, pain and muscle weakness, renal lithiasis. Calcium chloride is incompatible with soluble carbonates, phosphates, sulphates and other salts whose acids are poorly soluble calcium salts (precipitation phenomenon occurs). In association with chlorpheniramine maleate injection solution, tetracycline hydrochloride amphotericin opalescence occurs. In mixtures with cephalothin, sodium bicarbonate, with Novobiocin precipitates can occur.
Store at temperatures below 25 ° C. Protect from direct sunlight and frost.
