PHARMACO-THERAPEUTICAL ACTION

BISULFIM is a medicine obtained by the association of two synthesis substances, namely sulphur-adiazine and trimethoprim. Associating the two substances, they act synergically, ensuring a very good antibacterial range, both over the Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp, Corynebacterium spp, E. coli, Pasteurella spp, Salmonella spp, Bordetella spp, Klebsiella spp, Proteus spp. ; it acts efficiently over certain protozoa, too (Eimeria spp).

The association of the two substances (sulphur-adiazine and trimethoprim) consistently decrease the risk of occurrence of chemo-resistance and increases the general tolerance of the product, at the same time.

INDICATIONS

The product is administered for the respiratory, gastro-intestinal and urogenital infections, produced by the sulphur-adiazine and trimethoprim germs. The two active substances act synergically, ensuring a very good antibacterial range, both over the Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp, Corynebacterium spp, E. coli, Pasteurella spp, Salmonella spp, Bordetella spp, Klebsiella spp, Proteus spp. It acts efficiently over certain protozoa, too ( (Eimeria spp).

 

POSOLOGY, ADMINISTRATION WAY AND MODE

The BISULFIM product, oral solution, is administered by dilution into the drinking water for a period of 5-7 days, consecutively, individually or collectively, this way:

Bovine, ovine, horses, swine, rabbits, poultry, fish:

- trimethoprim: 5 mg/kg g.c. plus sulphur-adiazine: 25 mg/kg g.c./ day, for 5 consecutive days

-  cattle, sheep , horses , swine : 5 ml / 80-100 kg bw / day for 5-7 consecutive days

- hens (young replacement, broilers ) and rabbits : 4 ml / 10 liters drinking water / day .

Treatment can be prolonged severe infections to heal animals.

Medicated drinking water should be consumed within 24 hours of preparation .

 

CONTRAINDICATIONS, CAUTIONS AND ADVERSE REACTIONS

It is not administered for the animals with serious renal and hepatic disorders. It is not administered in case of hyper-sensitivity to the active substance or to any of the Excipients. Sometimes, it may occur belches (hives), gastric irritation (anorexia, belches), polyarthritis, keratites. The use is not recommended during the pregnancy and lactation period. The product is not used for the poultry that produce eggs for the human consumption. Avoid the simultaneous administration with other sulphamides. No overdosing with BISULFIM oral solution were registered. It does not exist a specific antidote for the overdosing treatment. The treatment is symptomatic.

 

WAITING TIME

Meat and organs: horses – 5 days; bovine, ovine, rabbits – 10 days; swine – 8 days; poultry (replacement young, broiler) – 5 days

Milk: bovine, ovine – 5 days

 

MAINTENANCE CONDITIONS

To be kept at a lower temperature than 25°C. Not to be refrigerated or frozen. To be protected against frost. To be maintained in the original package. The bottle must be kept well closed. To be protected against light.

 

EXPOSURE MODE

Bottles of 50 ml, 1 liters and cans of 5 liters product.
