The Ampicillin is a semi-synthetic penicillin derived from 6-amino-penicilanic acid. It is a bactericidal antibiotic with a wide range, acting based on a series of Gram positive germs (Actinomyces spp., Bacillus spp., Clostridium spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.) and Gram negative (Actinobacillus spp., Bordetella spp., Brucella spp., E. coli, Pasteurella spp., Proteus spp. etc.).
It diffuses well through the placenta, in the kidneys and liver. The removal is mainly made by the kidneys, less by the bladder and milk.More info

It is used for the treatment of primary and secondary digestive, respiratory, urogenital infections, complications after the surgical interventions, produced by ampicillin sensitive bacteria.
The product is deeply intramuscular administered (after the phial is well agitated), observing the following doses:
- horses, bovine: 2,5 – 5 ml product /100 kg g.c (5 – 10 mg.s.a./kg g.c) two times/ day; for 4 – 5 days.
- swine, ovine, goats: 2- 3,75 ml product / 50 kg g.c (8-15 mg s.a / kg g.c.) / two times/ day, for 4 – 5 days;
- swine: 0,5 ml product / 10 kg g.c (10 mg s.a / kg g.c.) /day, for 4 – 5 days:
- dogs, cats: 0,1 – 0,12 ml product/ 2 kg g.c (10 – 12 mg s.a./kg g.c.) / day, for 4 – 5 days.
In serious cases, on the veterinary’s recommendation, the doses can be increased.
If the animals don’t show an improvement of the health state, the veterinary will be consulted, for the re-evaluation of the diagnosis.
It is not administered in case of hyper-sensitivity to the active substance or to any of the Excipients. To be carefully administered for the animals with renal insufficiency. On certain animals, it may produce a temporary anemia. It may be used during the pregnancy and lactation period.
Avoid the concomitant administration of ampicillin with the chloramphenicol, tetracycline, gentamicin, lincomycin and the alkaline substances.
In the case of overdosing, there may occur skin, gastro-intestinal reactions (belches, abdominal pain, and diarrhea) and hardened breath. In case of accidental self-injection, immediately require the physician’s advice and show him the prospect of the product or the label.
Meat and organs: Horses, Goats – 6 days; Bovine, Ovine, Swine – 14 days;
Milk: Bovine, Ovine, Goats – 3 days.
To be kept at a lower temperature than 25°C. To be protected against light. To be protected against frost.
