Alexina is the normal cavy serum, immediately lyophylized from the procurement, which is used in the attachment reaction of the complement (RFC).
It is used in the attachment reaction of the complement (RFC).More info
- 1 phial lyophylized Alexina
- instructions for use
Normal saline solution, pH 7 – 7.2; Droppers graded from 1, 2, 5, 10 ml; Wasserman Tubes; Baie Marie, 37°C; Centrifuge, 500 – 2000 rpm; Hemolitic system.
Preparation of the hemolitic system
The blood is centrifugated for 15 minutes at 1500 r.p.m, 3 – 4 times. The anti-sheep hemolitic serum, conditioned in lyophylized state, is re-hydrated in one ml natural saline solution. The necessary hemolysis quantity is calculated upon the following formula:
H = 4 x C / T
H = necessary quantity of anti-sheep hemolytic serum.
C = necessary volume of hemolytic system
T = title of hemolitic serum
Example for the procurement of 100 ml hemolitic system.
H = 4 x 100 / 40000 = 0.1 ml hemolitic serum
The following are put in the mix:
- 0,1 ml anti-hematies hemolitic serum – sheep
- 1,25 ml of the deposit of sheep hematies. It is completed to the volume of 100 ml SF.
Incubation in Marie bath for 30 minutes at 37°C.
Titration of alexina
Alexina, conditioned in lyophylized state, is re-hydrated in one ml natural saline solution. Alexina is diluted 1/10 in SF and it is distributed in reaction pipes, in increasing quantities, from 0,10 – 0,40 ml by a step of 0,02. The alexina titration diagram is shown in the table no. l.

The tests are incubated for 15 minutes at Marie bath of 37°C.
The alexic title is represented by the minimum quantity of alexina that determines the total lysate of hematies.
The mixing or association of Alexina resulted from different series is not allowed. Once started, the test must be finished.
At 2 – 8°C, within the validity limit marked on the label.
Validity: 24 months from the conditioning date.
It is delivered in capsulated phials of 3 ml, containing 1 ml lyophylized product, the instructions of use are also introduced in the boxes. The dosing corresponds to the following titles:
100 doses = title 0,10 ml of dil. 1/10;
80 doses = title 0.12 ml of dil. 1/10;
70 doses = title 0.14 ml of dil. 1/10;
60 doses = title 0.16 ml of dil. 1/10;
55 doses = title 0.18 ml of dil. 1/10;
50 doses = title 0.20 ml of dil. 1/10;
45 doses = title 0.22 ml of dil. 1/10;
