It is used in the immuno-prophylaxis of contagious agalactia of the sheep and goats. The product is recommended for the active immunization of the two target species and prevention of the infection, the immunity installing at 21 days from the second inoculation and lasts at least 6 months, covering the lactation period.
The product is deep injected, behind the elbow or at the bottom of the tail, in a dose of 1 ml and is re-injected after 21 days with the same dose and on the same way.
At the inoculation place, it may occur an edema, accompanied by a low hyper-thermy (0,5 – 1,5°C) that disappears after 24 – 48 hours, letting a small, hard, persistent vaccine nodule, which disappears during the following 21 days. Anaphylactic reactions may occur at maximum 2 – 3% of the inoculated animals. In these cases, it will be administered an anti-hystaminic product (e.g. epinephrine). The post-inoculation reactions do not influence significantly the general sanitary state of animals. The sheep and goats are not inoculated on the last pregnancy month; the animals with infectious and parasitic diseases; the stressed animals; the immunosupressed animals due to certain nutritional and maintenance factors.
The animals tolerate vaccine overdoses without local or general changes over the noticed ones. The vaccine will not applied for minimum 14 days from other inoculations and for 12 days after the anti-parasitic treatments. The prophilactic inoculation is made on the pregnant animals on the 3rd and 4th pregnancy months. If necessary, the vaccine may be administered for the lactant sheep and goats, registering a low decrease of milk production. It is no information regarding the safety and efficiency in the case of concomitant use with another product. Therefore, it is recommended that any other vaccine is concomitantly administered or within the range of time of 2 weeks before or after the inoculation with AGAVAC.
Before the use and during the use, the phyals will be very well agitated for fluidization. The animals are inoculated with a sterile instrumentation. In case of self-administration, self-injection, immediately require the physician’s advice and show the prospect of the product or the label. The phyal, once opened, must be used within 6 hours.
It is kept at the refrigerator (2 – 8°C), protected against frost and light.
Injectable suspension in plastic or glass phials 100 ml containing an equal number of doses with the number of mililiters of the phyal.
